Numb scar area?

How long until the area around my scar isn't numb anymore? Will it just be like this forever? It's not bad, just weird.

Re: Numb scar area?

  • At my 1 year appt for a pap after I had my daughter it was still numb. The numb part had just gotten to be the scar line itself instead of the area around it, but still numb for me. Doc told me it's totally normal and my doc has had 4 c-sections herself and she said hers is still totally numb (her youngest is 5!)

  • My doc said it will get better for a while and may or may not go away completely.  She said she still has one small spot that is numb from her csection many yrs ago that will probably never go away.  I'm just hoping I get used to it if it doesn't go away!

  • My son will be four ina few weeks, and I still have a small area of numbness above my incision. The area was a lot bigger until about 2+ years after my c/s.

  • DD is two and I'm still slightly numb in certain spots.  It's bizarre and I avoid poking around too much because it gives me the heebie-jeebies.

  • For some women, the numbness never goes away. Everyone is different.
