  • I always use Paula Deen's recipe:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, at room temperature
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    3 ripe bananas, mashed

Preheat the oven to 350. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and sugar; mix well. Add the salt, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, baking powder and bananas. Mix well. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes.

I use my potato masher to mash the bananas.  It turns out perfect every time!

  • i make amazing banana bread, but i don't have the recipe here- i'm at work.
  • So funny, I was about to make some today! ?This is the best recipe I have ever had! ?Make it, trust me!

1 and 3/4 cup white all purpose flour

    2/3 cup white sugar

    2 tsp baking powder

    1/2 tsp baking soda

    1/4 tsp salt

1 cup mashed bananas (2-3 medium sized)

    1/3 cup shortening

    2 Tbsp milk

    2 eggs

    1 tsp cinnamon

1 bar hershey's chocolate -Optional, one time when I made it I broke up a hershey's bar and dropped it into the batter in the pan right before it went in the oven and it was awesome, everyone loved it! ?

(optional, I don't use nuts) 1/4 cup chopped nuts

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. ?Mix in the bananas, shortening and milk. ?Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until the mixture is well blended, then on high speed for two minutes. Add the eggs and remaining 3/4 cup flour and beat until well blended. Stir in nuts. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. ?Add chocolate. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes our clean. ?Cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.?
