Anyone else's LO still not walking?

Shiloh is up to around 7-8 steps, but we have to be sending her back and forth between us, or else pointing her at her anywhere chair (she can kind of collapse into it as she loses her balance).  She is not interested in letting go of a piece of furniture and initiating a walk on her own.

  • DS has only done 3-4 steps once or twice He is not a risk-taker, which is just fine by me. I keep telling him to take his time! Once he's walking, then we are just that much closer to running, LOL!

Same here. She walks behind her stroller for her dollies and other things but she hasnt let go and won't walk alone.

  • Doodle, my LO was doing what your Shiloh was doing for at least a month before out of nowhere she just started walking every place. It seemed like it happened in the blink of an eye.I thought to myself just the other day, "When did she start really walking? Jeez oh petes!"

I bet ya it wont be long.

  • Mine is not walking yet-  he cruises like crazy and will let go and stand there but will not try to take a step on his own.  He will even walk holding one of my hands.  My oldest DS was 14mos when he started walking and he let go of the table and ran across the room so I am not stressing yet.

  • My LO is doing the same thing. I was kind of surprised as she was started crusing around 8 months so I thought for sure she'd be walking by now. My son also walked really early (8.5 months) so I thought she'd be similar. However, she's got a huge vocabulary, so I'm guessing her focus is on talking vs walking. My son was the reverse.

This sounds like DD. She was also cruising at 8 months so I thought she'd be running a while ago. She moves REALLY fast when she's pushing her little stroller. But I think she can't be bothered to walk when it's not a game because it takes so much longer than crawling. They'll get there.

  • Aiden didn't walk more than crawl til he was about 13.5-14 months.

  • My LO is doing the same thing - no more than 7 steps or so then he'll drop or look to hold on to something.
