DH proposed this name yesterday. I kind of like it. But do you think it's a bit dated/too popular from the 80s?

Also, would you spell it with 2 i's or with a y?

I like it spelled Caitlin. Hmmm, I can't decide if I'd call it a "classic" or not. But I still like it. Probably won't be nearly as many other Caitlins the same age as your lo.

My nieces name is spelled Kailtyn (so that may be an option as well) I've also heard of Kailyn (without the "T")!

Caitlin 100%. I believe I've read here that is the traditional spelling. I think it's a nice name and not dated.

I like both spellings but I think I like Caitlin slightly more. I know this board isn't big on unique spellings, but i know someone who spells it Caitlan which I always liked. And I don't think it's dated.

Caitlin is definitely my favourite! I would say that maybe some of the cutesy spellings (Katelynn, etc) are dated, but not the traditional spelling.

Caitlin is a classic Irish name (although it is pronounced a little differently over there).

Kaitlyn/Katelyn/Caitlyn, etc are trendy late 80s names.

I love it! It's on our list of potential girl names, with 2 i's. I tend to not like names with a y anywhere but the end. It seems too trendy or something.
