Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Please tell me I'm not the only one..

With a (almost!) 1 year old that sleeps like crap at night...

Ever since we started night weaning a couple months ago i swear its gotten worse. And no, he's not hungry- so thats not why he's waking. I feel like we've tried everything under the sun..

And he still sleeps like crap...

  • My DD has never slept through the night without waking up to nurse (we do co-sleep, because otherwise I would be a Zombie Left Hug).  I plan to night wean in the next month or so.  I used to think she woke up just to eat, but I have read in several places that even after weaning, babies will still wake up- some babies just wake up in the night to play or whatever.  I am pretty sure, mine is going to fall into that category.

  • My 18 mo was up 3 or 4 times last night. We haven't night weaned yet, but IME, that doesn't necessarily help with sleep. I night weaned DD1 at 26 months, and she continued to wake at least once a night until she was almost 5 yrs. She still wakes up some nights. Last night she woke up and climbed into our bed around 3-4am.

  • You are not alone : ) My 15 month old still sleeps like crap. I once got in my car at 4am and drove around the block a few times because he had woken up so many times and I was about to lose my shiit.

DH never said a word when I crawled back into bed. Bless him for that.

  • Thanks ladies! It does make me feel better to know we're not alone! Although im not so sure how I feel that it doesn't seem to end any time soon!!

I feel like im loosing it at night lately- I have to just walk away.. but then he screams.. still screams for my husband.. until I come back in and just deal with it.

The thing is- he's tired- he doesn't want to play! just wants to snuggle back to sleep..

I'd kill for just once a night wakeup... KILL!
