Well, after a long conversation with the RE, we are going to go ahead with this cycle, so we triggered this evening.
I am on a flare protocol but have had a small number of follicles all along, and they have not been growing at the same rate. Because of the ARC package we bought, we were getting concerned about going to retrieval and then not having anything to transfer (basically, once we go to ER, we are committed to paying for the whole cycle).
My doctor did not have a strong recommendation one way or the other, but he did clarify some things that made me feel better about seeing this one through. First, he said that even though I had more a couple more follicles total last cycle, the extras were very small. In fact, I had just two at the ideal measurement last time, this time I have three in that category (and a few more that are smaller or larger). I also have a better estradiol level this time. Second, he really thinks that we will make it to transfer on this cycle, although there is a chance that a different protocol would work even better than the two we have tried so far. He couldn't really offer any assurances about this other option, other than "it probably wouldn't be worse," so that wasn't enough to scrap everything this cycle. We made it to transfer with two good quality embryos last time, so I hope we will get that far this time too.
