and the worrying begins....need some words...

I posted last Friday about my cervical length measuring a 2.9 (at about 23 weeks) ...when they took the measurements a few were in the very low 3's but they do go with the lower one....i wish they went with an AVERAGE:)  given that two weeks prior it was 3.9, yeah it worried me..

so i reached out to my OB and we spoke today...she was NOT worried at this point but did say "would I have liked it to have been higher?  yes, but you are still within normal range, not dilated and not funneling and that's what we are keeping our eyes out for."

my next MFM appnt is next Wed but the OB told me for peace of mind to come see her tomorrow or Thursday and she will check things out....so yeah i will be in there for SURE and will keep you posted....

I will be 24 weeks on Sunday and while I know it's a milestone I am just sitting here in tears worrying about all the what ifs'....I know they will do what they have to to help me go as far as I can but with a 3 year old at home I am just starting to freak out a bit!!

any words of wisdom...thanks girls...

  • My MFM doesn't require bed rest until it is 2.5 or less. If it makes you feel better, take it very easy between now and when you see your OB and/or MFM. Drink lots of water and relax as much as possible. I know it's hard to take it easy with a 3 yr old, but it's better than being on strict bed rest. Good luck!

  • I know you are scared, I understand how you are feeling. I know it is probably little comfort, but you are 24 weeks, which is big milestone. I agree with your OB that it is very good that you are not funneling or dilating. I would just make sure they monitor you closely and frequently, take it as easy as possible, and ask them if they think progesterone would help you. Best of luck to you.
