I'm about to have my rcs on the 22nd. My first one was under general anesthesia. I remember waking up in crazy pain. I was then in same crazy pain for the next 12 hrs or so until they started giving me percocets. I know the first 12 hrs they were pumping in pitocin and very minor doze of morphine for pain.
So my question is..is the pain management any better when you have a spinal or is there also a certain amount of time where you're in a lot of pain?

Re: Pain management after spinal
Proud mother of two breech babies:)
I had morphine in my spinal, which lasted probably the first 24 hours. I personally think that's it's silly to try and play superhero and decline pain meds after you've had MAJOR abdominal surgery. My hospital gave meds on demand and I was miserable the first 2 days. Then I had a nurse who gave them timed and it was WONDERFUL. I finally felt well enough to start to function like a human again.
This. I had an epi not a spinal but my pain was very well managed. The epi didn't work very well and I could feel a lot of sharp pinching so after baby came out they actually gave me a lot of IV drugs. I don't remember the first twelve house. Sadley I slept most of it. But the next morning I was in no pain at all.
