This was mentioned to me at my writer's group last night (now keep in mind, i'm the girl who was also told that we should all drink guinness and stay away from watermelon)
When I was little and nauseous my mom always gave us coke syrup. I'm not even sure if they still make it or not? So I open a coke and stir it until it's pretty much flat and drink it that way. Works for me, But it may be one of those weird mind trick things... haha
Cut up a delicious apple and let it sit on the counter for a bit untill the white parts turn brownish. Then eat it up! Something about the chemical compound of the juice browning is good for settling stomach. Sounds healthy, right!?

Has anyone heard of this? Tried it?
I have heard this. Warm coke. And it actually works for me. Of course anything carbonated works for me
Yes, there's something in the cola that helps. Coke and Pepsi will both do the same thing. If the carbonation bothers you (it helps some ppl) then just let it go flat. Also, ice cold will shock your stomach, so you want it either just cool or room temp.
And remember to SIP it!! If you drink it too fast the bubbles will build up and make it worse.
For my little man...I only knew you in my heart.

Non-pg I am in the "1 soda or less per week" category, so obviously I am no friend of soda or caffiene, but I totally agree with the Coke thing. I've tried other sodas and it just doesn't do the same thing. I still try to keep it at 1 per week, but sometime I will have a few in a week. I still consider that the "moderation" camp.

No - Its ONLY Coke, NOT Pepsi.

During the first few months I would drink coke to help settle my stomach. I was given it when I was little and was sick, so anytime my stomach is upset that is what I drink. I think it is something in it that helps settle my stomach.
Coke (or Diet Coke but I try and avoid that in 1st tri) have always worked better for settling my stomach and nausea than ginger ale or sprite/7up. Couldn't tell you why, haha, it just does!
We aren't big soft drink drinkers, but I've kept the little cans of coke on hand just for this purpose early on. (the only other thing they get used for is the occasional rum and coke, but not by me obviously).
I keep the small 8 oz. cans of Coke in my fridge. The colder the better, and it usually helps. I also have small York peppermint patties in the fridge to help with the nausea.
I'm in the minority here, but I cannot eat or drink anything sweet (Sprite/Coke/Gingerale/Gatorade, etc.) At all. Makes the vomiting worse. I was violently ill for hours last night when I tried a little bit of chocolate.
This may sound weird, but some places sell Mexican Coke. It's the VERSION of coke cola they sell in Mexico and I believe it has the real coke syrup in it. They sell it at Big Lots here...
Otherwise TRUE ginger brew/ale should help. That said, I ate so much ginger in my first trimester that the THOUGHT of ginger makes me sick..

I was looking at DH's baby book a while back and noticed that the pediatrician (in the late 70's/early 80's) recommended this. This seems to work for DH, but when my stomach is upset, I need Sprite or some other clearly pop. Plus, we need to limit caffeine intake right now.

as DELICIOUS as coca-cola is, it should by no means be drank while pregnant. Its acidic level is way to high- basically ill leave every boring detail out and go strait to the punch: Coca-cola can melt your childs spine.
My nausea cure was otter pops:] mm.
not truly nutritious but eh, ya kno...

Re: coca cola to relieve nausea?
I don't know about that but here's another:
