Prepping a Diaper Rite OS

Has a microfiber insert w/ bamboo lining.  I sent a message to the place I got it and they said to "wash it once" before putting it on LO to "wash the factory off".  I feel stupid asking them to clarify.  Seems like it would need more prepping?

Do I have to wash it alone to prep or can I throw it in w/ my prefold laundry? 

Any specific requirements I should know of?

If it has bamboo, I would wash it once apart from the diapers (like with towels). Then I would start using it and expect improvement with time.
