Hi ladies, I'm posting this here since I figured you probably have more experience with this than the ladies on my BMB. I spent Friday night in L&D with preterm labor - contractions every 2 minutes for 12 hours and dilated to 1 cm. 5 doses of Procardia and 3 of something else finally got it stopped. I have not felt right all weekend...very crampy, tightening in my uterus (but not painful other than the mestrual like cramps), lots of lower back pain, and an increase in BM. I was up most of the night last night with cramps and back pain. This morning I woke up and I cannot keep any food down. All of these are listed as signs of pre term labor in my discharge papers. I have a follow up with my OB today at 3:20 and that seems like a long ways away right now. I'm trying to tell myself that I'm just paranoid after Friday's episode. Please tell me I'm freaking out over nothing.
Re: Pre term labor questions
I can't tell you it's not preterm labor, only the dr. can do that, but I CAN tell you it doesn't mean baby will definitely be born soon. They may be able to stop or slow labor.
You may want to start preparing for the possibility of at least partial bedrest or a short hospital stay. RIght now, lay down and drink lots of water. That may help ease it.
Will be praying. Hang in there and keep us posted!
No personal experience here. Just lots of good thoughts to you! It does sounds like it could be pre-term labor. But, don't jump off the cliff until you have to. It very well could be something else. Maybe you have a touch of a bug.
Obviously you are welcome here, but I hope you don't have to join us!
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

I would call. It could be a bug like PP said (it can cause dehydration and cramping) or any number of things, but regardless, call.
My symptoms were mild: back pain I ignored (id' always has back pain, but this was much worse), and then I started to spot; at that point I was 1 cm and they couldn't stop it - DS was born at 26w2d
