Hey ladies I hope everyone is doing well! I hope you don't mind me asking here but I am going through IVF #1 and am a little worried about the number of follicles I have. I am triggering tonight with ER on Wend with 6 follicles. Is 6 low for the amount of follicles I should have? Also if you have gone through IVF how many eggs did you get and how many of them fertilized? I guess I am a little freaked out that if they do get a total of 6 that we might not have an issue with not having the best quality to transfer. Any insight is appreciated!

Dx: PCOS and MFI
IUI#1-4 all BFN
IVF#1 January (4R, 4M, 1F) BFP
Colt was born on 10/27 at 11:50pm. 6lbs and 19 1/4"

    Hi there! Everyone is different when it comes to # retrieved but the goal is always quality over quantity. Are you doing ICSI? I hope you have several great embies from your bunch and you get your BFP!

    Like the PP said it is quality over quantity.  If all 6 fertilize then you will have a great number.  Good luck!!

    Quality is the most important.  I had 20 follies but only ended up with 10 eggs, and 7 were great and fertilized.  Good Luck with your ER ~ stay positive that is the key!

    I know this can be hard to do, worring over every part of the process, but all that matters is that you get that one perfect baby! It can happen if you have one emby or 30. I hope this is your month, and good luck!

    Also you can see my siggy I have some info there... But also notice I PCOS so I am a "superproducer" any way. I had over 60 folicles, and as a result I developed OHSS. So not fun! But I would do it all over again if it meant I could still have this baby growing in side of me...

    Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
    All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!

    Some people end up getting more eggs than follicles due to some hiding, etc. I had 22 follies my second cycle, and 9 mature eggs, but only 5 fertilized. Of the 5, we put one back and froze 2. At the time it seemed like a terrible cycle to get 5 embryos from 22 follicles, but after a few days we noticed it really was quality that matters. With 6 follies you could definitely get a few extra eggs. And lots of empty follicles is not a common issue so you might very well get right around 6, which was just fine for us!
