So lately DD has been puny, just a cold, but it's still uncomfy for her to sleep when she starts coughing and is congested. We raised her crib to elevate her head, but still. SO, she wakes up for naps like 30 minutes in, and chugs a bottle, then promptly falls asleep on us HARDCORE. As in, she obviously needs to nap longer, wakes up in her crib and cannot put herself back to sleep... and instead gets that nap extension ON US. This is no bueno - mainly bc we have a 3 yr old! Can't be trapped w/a sleeping baby on us. And yes - she awakes screaming the SECOND we attempt to put her back in crib asleep.
Her nighttime sleep is awesome - goes roughly from 7:30 to 6:00-6:30. But naps... oy. She needs longer ones.. but like a dang clock she wakes screaming after 30-40 min.
Any tips?? I've tried CIO - intervals and so forth like what we did with her nighttime sleep (read Ferber, worked amazing)... doesn't work with naps!!!!
Re: setting up bad sleep habits....
she gets a 7 oz bottle around 6:30am.. then b'fast an hour later (mostly sparse.. her least fave meal of the day).. then her next bottle is when she wakes up next - so around 11am?
Should I give her a 2oz bottle or something btwn b'fast and her next nap?
