mini vent. 3 1/2 yo w attitude!

Hi ladies. I've never actually been on this board so I will introduce myself first, I have an almost 4 (in April) year old boy and am expecting a little girl in May. I work two jobs and am in school full time finishing my bachelor's degree. My Fiance works and takes care of our son and the house work as much as possible so I can work on school and not be exhausted ALL the time. So like i said my son will be 4 in April, but I don't know what in the world his issue is all of a sudden the attitude started and the not listening. Nothing has changed he has known about his little sister coming since we found out, hes around the same kids at preschool/daycare, we include him on most of the decisions for his little sister like picking out blankets and the crib he got a say in and hes really excited. I just don't know what could be the problem, we've tried telling him the consequences of not listening to us we've tried timeouts, taking things away, bribing him that if he does what hes supposed to well let him do something special and it ALWAYS ends in a fight. Just at witts end with him the past few weeks.

    Mine too :( I wish I had some words of wisdom....mostly I just have sympathy because it exhausts me and I'm not even pregnant, don't go to school and only have one job.

    I hear that 4 is better (if that helps).  At least you only have a few more months - I have to wait until Nov.  Good Luck :)

    DD went through a wicked streak of spoiled behavior at that age. Instigated a whole new round of TO's. Now she's four and lovely.

    Its the age.  I have found that 3 1/2 to 4 age to be really hard with both of my kids.  My little one will be 4 next month.  The kids have finally learned a ton of skills and how to do so many things on their own that they think they are big kids.  Add in a new sibling on the way and you have a receipe for a lot of testing to come.

    Just two more months to go till hes 4...then the baby here in may we start all over lol.
