Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me. I have an 8 lb baby girl and I'm trying to use my K'tan in a kangaroo hold but I'm having issues.
My K'tan is an XS and I'm wondering if it's not fitting properly. I'm 5'0'' and 125 lbs so I think I have the right size but it keeps slipping.
I wrap her in the kangaroo hold and she starts in the right position, I can kiss her head, etc. but within a few minutes, she starts to slip down to toward my belly button. I've tried readjusting the straps, spreading them more on my shoulders, etc. I've tugged the back loop down to the middle of my back , etc. and it won't stay there!! I'm at my wits end. I love wearing her but only for the first few minutes until she starts slipping. My DH has tried to help me adjust it but he thinks it might be too big for me.
Can you guys suggest anything? I've scoured the K'tan website and searched on the internet but I just can't find anything.
Thanks!!!
Re: Issues with my K'tan
I was having a similar issue but I think it's because DD is so small (<6lbs). I just kept my arms underneath her bum as much as possible to hold her up. Sorry I'm not more help!
ETA: You might want to try another hold- one that utilizes the sash. That way you can use that to support her weight.
But it got better? I'm thinking I might need to ditch this carrier but if it improves, I can wait a little longer!
I thought you couldn't use any hold but the kangaroo hold until they get bigger?
Currently back stateside but missing Kenya!
DD is still tiny, so I am just working with it for now. And you appear to be right re: holds. Maybe you can do a modified kangaroo and just tie the sash around the bottom to give a little more support? Hmm...
