Are you using a blender, food processor, or baby-specific processor like the Baby Bullet? I have an old-school 2 speed blender but I'm wondering if I should invest in a new appliance when we start feeding DD fruits and veggies this month..
Any recommendations?

Re: SO solids.. Making your own ?
We got a baby bullet on sale. We have a regular blender but it's constantly in use, so I needed something to make her food that was not going to take up a ton of space.
I'm sure you could use the blender just the same. The baby bullet has been good for us so far, we've been using it for about 2m now.

We use our Ninja blender that we already had. For the short length of time they eat purees and for how much I'll actually use it, I didn't want to invest in a new appliance that takes up more cabinet space. It didn't puree peas and green beans very well, they turned out kinda chunky, but he eats them just fine.
BTW, I've been so surprised at how effortless this baby food making is! We've been doing it for almost 3 months and I've only made about 4 batches of food - just a few (total) hours of work to save money and serve healthier food!
Totally agree with all of this, only I use a food processor attachment that we already had. It came with our blender that we got with wedding money, and we got it knowing that I'd want to make baby food with the processor attachment.
I JUST started making food, but it is definitely super easy, very cheap, and fun. You can make a lot in just a few small batches, and those batches last a long time so I agree that it probably isn't necessary to get anything special since they don't even eat purees that long. And many items don't need a machine at all. When it comes to bananas, avocados, peas, etc, I just mash it with a fork and call it good.
If you don't already have something and you are trying to decide, I would definitely get something along the lines of a blender/processor combo that you can use for yourself!
ETA- Forgot that you mentioned you had a two speed blender already! I would give that a try. As long as your food is cooked well enough (and is super soft) I'm guessing it would work. You might need to add a little more liquid than you would with a food processor, but I'm not sure. Like I mentioned before, if you do get something new, just make sure it's something you can use for yourself when you are done with all this. If you don't think you would use a food processor ever again, and if you don't need a blender with more than two speeds, then I don't think it would be worth the investment.
I use our bullet and it works great. I love that I was able to use the appliance I already had on hand.
I absolutely HATE cleaning my food processor bowl, so I use my immersion (stick) blender, and I absolutely adore it. I can blend to any texture from chunky to silky smooth, I just steam or roast whatever I'm making, dump into a nice deep bowl, add a little of the steaming liquid and the stick blender whips it into shape in seconds. I throw the bowl into the dishwasher and rinse the blender in some hot soapy water, it couldn't be easier. You can get them at a great price, and they are spectacular for making adult foods too (I use it all winter long for soup).
