One year or older micro preemies... RSV question

Does anyone have any RSV experiences to share involving an older micro preemie? DD was born at 26 weeks and had RSV shots last year but did not need them this year as she had never been sick. She had a fever for the first time 2 weekends ago and her and I have been sick off and on ever since. She started with the "seal bark" type cough a few days and now I'm pretty sure she has RSV. My question is: would you contact the RSV clinic at your hospital right away or let it run its course and see if it gets worse. I am terrified about it after everything we went through to prevent it last year but this is the first time she's been sick so I don't know if I'm just over reacting. Thoughts?

I would call... but I am like that! I might just call the pedi and go in to see them tomorrow.

I would call too. If only to put some of your worries to rest.

I would make the call to the Pedi, at least.  I think that we have a little bit of a "free pass" due to our LO's arriving so early.  I always rest better when I get the doc's opinion.  I am still second guessing myself and my 25 weeker is 3.    GL, mama.  I hope your LO feels better.

I would call ASAP. Rsv is really bad. Zoe just had it and she was I'm the hospital for a week.

Thanks ladies! I will being calling the clinic tomorrow as soon as it opens. I don't think I would ever forgive myself if DD landed back in the hospital because I didn't want to bother someone! I learned my lesson in not listening to my gut when she was born!

I'd definitely have her seen.  My LO had RSV a couple weeks back (despite getting synagis every month) and we ended up taking her in to the pedi twice in a week.  The second time we were kind of second guessing ourselves but her pedi told me "when it comes to premature babies under 2 always come in".  HTH and I hope your DD is feeling better soon!

Follow your gut and when in doubt, preemie or not, call!  Hugs!

Def call. My friend's two full-term daughters have both had it as infants and they both were put on an inhaler until they were better.
