A little more of our story.

So I thought I would share a little more of my story with you guys--just to bring awareness if there is anyone that you may know of who struggles with the same thing I use too.

 My husband and I waited until our wedding night to have sex. The sad part is- we were physically unable to consummate our marriage due to a condition called vaginismus. Its a condition that makes sex impossible or extremely painful due to the tightening of the vagina muscles. I struggle with this condition for a year and half- seeing many many doctors in and out of state who knew little about it and how to treat it.

 We both knew we wanted children and needed to get this resolved. We also just wanted to have an intimate marriage. Sure we could do 'outercourse' stuff but it just wasn't the same.

In July of this past year we ended up going to an amazing treatment center on Long Island NY called the Womens Therapy Center. We had the best doctors ever and within our two week stay I was completely cured! We have now enjoyed six full months of good sex and now we are TTC.

 I have a full blog that explains the entire condition and my two week journey in NY if you want to know more--but I basically wanted to share my story and our past struggle and to bring awareness of the condition of vaginismus.

 

If anyone watches Strange Sex on TLC and saw the episode about vaginimus, the doctors on that show were the ones we went too They were amazing!!

    I want to say there was an episode of Private Practice where a couple was having similar problems, and the woman had vaginismus.  I am so glad you found a doctor that helped you!  Wonderful news!

    A friend just recently told me about the Private Practice episode--I haven't seen it yet but really want to watch it!!

    And here is the link...I use a pseudo name on here, hince the name differences so don't think I am married to two different guys :)

    Thank you all--we all have our own individual struggle to get through and this was ours.

    Kristykay- I read your story as well. You are one tough woman!

    Together since April 2004.  Married since June 19th, 2010.
     BFP #1: January 31st 2012: CP. 
     BFP #2: June 1st 2012, Due:2/8/13. Avery was born via unplanned c section on 2/13/13. 
     BFP #3: Sept. 25th, 2014. Due: 6/5/15.  MMC on 10/23/14. Confirmed complete molar pregnancy per D&C 10/29/14, 
    HCG officially negative 12/10/14.  Benched until June 2015.
