What did you do for your cold?

I know a bunch of you have had to deal, but I didn't pay much attention... I feel like poo!  I'm loading on vitamin C, but I don't know what else... TIA!

  • I started getting sick Monday.  It was at its absolute worst Wednesday.  Yesterday i started to feel better.  This morning I am still moderately congested.

    I tried to just do lots of rest and fluids.  However, I did use my Neti pot on Wednesday morning once because that day was absolute hell.

    I don't know if the reason I was able to just power through was because I seem to have a fairly good immune system though.  I don't usually get sick or I'll get sniffles for 3 days max.  So it did take longer and was worse than usual due to pregnancy weakening my immune system I guess.  But if it had lasted longer I might have caved and taken something for it.

    Feel better!  Rest and fluids!

  • Rest and fluids (lots of hot decaf teas). Neti pot and/or sinus rinse. My doc told me it was okay to take Sudafed (the real stuff behind the counter) and Mucinex if I couldn't deal with the symptoms.

  • I bought a humidifier and I was so dried out, there were times I just sat on top of it..  I drank a lot of decaf black tea and at times took in the humidity from that.  I also took tussin because that was allowed, but I did my best to take it the least as necessary..  Good luck to you!

  • i've been sick since Tuesday- just lots of rest, fluids, tylenol, cough drops, i've been juicing to get more vitamins-

    but NOW my throat is getting worse- so i need to go to the Dr and see if i can take anything for that and get tested for strep. ick!

  • I was told tylenol cold was fine. I was sick for 10 days (body aches, sore throat, stuffy then runny nose). It was a life saver.
