Is this ridiculous?

Does this stash look okay? (It would be the result of purchasing a few lots of Craigslist)... Too me it looks a bit unbalanced, but I am new to this CD thing! The total would be about $355, so I would hope that this would get me from NB to PL. Please let me know!

AIOs- 12 NB

Multiuse (covers + AI2s + pockets)- 4 OS 

16 inserts 

Fitteds- 6 NB 

Covers- 12 NB & 2 OS 

Prefolds- 12 preemie & 12 infant

Other- 6 NB gdiapers & 6 small 

** My gut is that this is really heavy on the NB diapers but not balanced for the rest of the time. What would you remove? I don't want TOO many diapers, especially since I wanted to do this to save money!

** Do I really need preemie prefolds?

So you'd only have 4 diapers bigger than size small? That's not nearly enough.

I think you're right; it's very NB heavy.  After your LO outgrows all the NB/small stuff you're left with 4 OS pockets and 2 OS covers.  I would build up your older baby stash.  I doubt you'll need preemie prefolds and the gDiapers are really expensive for the quality you get.  You'll spend more money now, but will save in the long run.  even if you spend another $300, you've still spent less money than buying pack after pack of sposies.

It looks like you are in good shape for the newborn stage, but that you are definitely going to need more diapers after that.

After the newborn stage, are you planning on using prefolds and covers, pockets/AIOs, or fitteds with covers?

If you are going to use a system with covers, I would probably swap out a few of your newborn covers for ones that will fit a bigger size. I did notice that you don't have any snappis on your list, though, so if you are planning to trifold your prefolds, I guess you will go through more covers.

I think (although I haven't gotten to use any diapers yet so I may be wrong) that you want to have 8-12 diapers per day after the newborn stage + some overnight options. Maybe get some prefolds and covers in bigger sizes, a few non-newborn fitteds, and a couple of wool covers?
