BW Results

Thought I'd update you ladies on my BW results. I'd mentioned I was getting them done in a prior post.

Anyways, the results were not extraordinary. The only thing she mentioned was that I am heterozygous for Factor V Leiden. Because I'm heterozygous and not homozygous she wasn't overly concerned. The hetero will protect me from the Factor V Leiden gene I have, I think.

Basically nothing showed up that she could say definitively, "this is why you bled and lost the babies," which is probably a good thing. It means I'm healthy, we can TTC, and it shouldn't happen again. I'll be more closely monitored next time though. She mentioned I could get a cerclage, but that could lead to miscarriage apparently if unneeded! So I'm just like "umm, ok..."

Oh and my OB told us we could do some pre-conception counselling, where she's get to know mine and DH's family history and look over the blood results and stuff. She said we don't need to, but with the way I am I figured why not! DH thinks I'm nuts, but he'll come with.  

I'm terrified that if I get pregnant with twins again that I'll lose them, too, though we would love to have twins again. DH and I discussed what we would do next time, like maybe have way less or no sex, and just be more careful. I was super careful last time, so I'll just be the same probably and I guess we'll have to hope for the best when I'm pregnant again!

Thumbs up on the preconception counseling. I agree- why not? It sounds like you have a plan in place, both w/ your OB & your DH, which will hopefully be reassuring when you get pg again

Have you looked into getting a TAC?  It's a permanent cerclage that is put in before pregnancy. Your only option for delivery for future babies is a c/s though. I have s real friends who had those put in and have their rainbows. I also have friends that have the regular cerclage put in and have their rainbows.

I found the pre-conception counseling helpful and we left with a "plan" for next time. If nothing else, it was for my peace of mind that my "team" was all on the same page.
