I feel like a foster child

We were supposed to have a "playdate" visit with Pumpkin's sisters tomorrow.  I talked with both foster parents yesterday.  Today, when I called to confirm pick-up time with the foster parent of the 4 yo she said, "it wasn't going to work for tomorrow."  Now, I have to break the bad news to the 10 y.o.  (I think I'm going to let her decide if she still wants to come or not...)

And, I had all the make-your-own pizza fixings in the fridge.  Guess L and I are having pizza for dinner tomorrow!

"it wasn't going to work for tomorrow."

  • I'm not sure.

Foster mom hadn't told 4 year old her change of heart, so when they came to pick up Pumpkin for visit, I got to see her super excited "we're gonna go to the park with you" and then break the news to her.

    She started crying, it sucked.

    I'm gonna go drink now.

  • Aw man, that sounds so stressful.  Poor you and poor big sisters.  I hope foster mom had a good excuse!!

    Cautiously optimistic.
  • I hear (older, single ) foster mom "isn't very flexible."  Not sure why she would tell FD one thing, and change her mind the next day, though.

Hopefully we are going next week Sat.

Although, I did have a dream that our social worker called at 7:30 am today asking why we hadn't picked up both girls yet, and that we better hurry!
