I am going to try and put dd in her big girl crib today. She has yet to sleep flat in her pnp for naps or bed. She has been either in her carseat to sleep or her bouncy chair. I am hoping that she will like her crib and sleep good again so I can sleep good! I am really nervous for her to be in another room and really nervous for sleeping through her cry, even though i will have a monitor right next to me.?
Anyone who has moved their babies into a crib or had the same situation with where your baby slept and now is sleeping flat in a crib have suggestions? Sorry this might not make much sense, she is also teething already so it has been an exhausting few days ?
Re: help/tips for transition to crib
I transitioned LO to his own room in his cradle around Christmas. It went much better than I thought it would. Before that LO was sleeping in his carseat and then co-sleeping. Rarely actually could get him to sleep in the cradle in our room.
I bought an Angel monitor (because i was going to let him sleep on tummy). I slept in the room with him in the cradle for about 2 weeks. Because I was nervous and because I thought it would help him. We were also waking DH up wayyyy too much. My LO was not a good sleeper and he did much better with the transition than I would have thought. No real issues. After the two weeks I moved back to our room. I think I woke up every hour the first night and just peaked in. Even though we have the monitor in our room. But after that its fine. we sleep with his door almost shut and our door wide open. I always hear him cry both through the door and in the monitor.
Interestingly enough, now when he falls asleep after nursing if i cuddle him for too long he starts to squirm on my chest because he wants to lay flat in the cradle. And he is one picky, opinionated kid :-)
