Sorry I have been MIA ladies. Max was doing great up until this morning. When I called to check on him his nurse said that he was very fussy and breathing a little harder than yesterday. But she said that she was finally able to get him back to sleep. So I go in around 3:00 and they had to put him back on oxygen around 1:00. What ticks me off about all of this is that NO ONE called me to let me know. I went in to see him and he has the nasal cannula on again. That was quite a shock. My in-laws were there when it happened and they didn't even call!!!! TICKED ME OFF! Anyway, they finally decided to do another chest x-ray and his lungs look "wetter" than they did the other day. The fellow decided to try Lasiks again even though I told her that we would rather not since it hasn't worked the last two times they tried it AND because it can cause major hearing problems. Well who the hell am I? She ignored my concerns and went ahead with the order. So needless to say, I am extremely aggravated and balled my eyes out the whole way home. Tim is over there now so I will see how he was doing after I left.
Plus, his night nurse was putting him into the outfit he is suppose to wear on Halloween, put I was so upset that I couldn't say anything. I thought I would cry if I did so I just kept my mouth shut. ERRR!
I hope everyone is having a better evening than I am
( I will talk to you all very soon.
Re: Max Update
Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!
DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.
I'm so sorry. Try to get a good night's sleep tonight and hopefully tomorrow will be better. I hope Tim is dealing with the issues right now.
By the way, I just sent an e-mail to the address on Max's blog, so if you see a weird e-mail address, it's from me.
Hang in there. We're praying for you guys!
Oh wow I am so sorry to hear all of this. I would definitely address my concern about the medicine. Is there a charge nurse that you can talk to or a patient rep? We had problems with one nurse and they took action immediately.
When Evan had lots of fluid on him they didn't want to use the lasix either b/c of side effects such as losing all of there electrolytes as well.
You are Max's voice so don't be afraid to cry and show your frustration I'm sure they all know how frustrated you are. I'm so sorry.
((HUGS))
Continued thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry you are still going through all of this and that your concerns are being pushed aside. I say that if you continue to feel aggravated about these things, don't hesitate to speak up. Especially about things like no one telling you about the nasal cannula, etc. Those are definitely things you should be made aware of.
Hang in there. You are being the kind of mother your son needs-- a loving advocate.
So sorry. Still praying for you all.
BTW - how can they do a medical procedure without parental consent? Isn't that some sort of assault, legally speaking? I'd be sooooooo pi$$ed.
