A co-worker was in my car today and commented on how DD's convertible carseat was reclined too far back. We have a Britax Boulevard and apparently, there's a line on it that needs to be level with the backseat in order for it to be installed properly. My co-worker helped me fix it but now DD is sitting straight up and her car seat is impeding some of my vision. When I turn to check my blind spots, it's difficult to see around the seat and it also takes up part of my rearview mirror. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, what did you do about it? FYI, I drive a Tahoe and DD is rear-facing in the middle of the second row.
On a side note, now I feel like a bad mom for not having the seat installed properly all this time. I've been meaning to take it to a carseat check but just haven't found the time.
Re: Carseat impeding driver vision - anyone have this problem?
The line is supposed to be level with the GROUND, not the seat.
I think that's what I was trying to say. As in, it should be a straight, 180 degree line and not sloping. Is that right?
Ditto on the ground VS the seat
When Rear Facing, most of the carseats are supposed to be reclined. Check the manual that came with the Britax.
But if all is well, you may need to install it behind the passenger seat for safest driving.
Just because she thinks she has it right doesn't mean it is! Just like you thought you had it right
Don't feel bad! We all do the best we can with what we know.

No, there is a horizontal red line on the side of the carseat (on my Britax it is on the driver's side when the car is installed RF) and that line should be parallel with the ground.
Also, per the manual, the seat should be in the relined position when RF.
FWIW, I've had a few people comments about how far DD's seat is reclined. I don't know if it just looks like it is super reclined because it is ginormous or if other people have theirs installed incorrectly.
ETA: We have a Boulevard, too. I honestly think it just reclines further than people are "used" to.
