When we did DD's 1st birthday, we went with a ladybug theme because I thought it would be cute. Plain & simple.

Cut to present day and DD is o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d. with ladybugs. I've got some cute ideas for things we could do for a ladybug party (new ideas, not stuff that we did from her 1st birthday) and I honestly think DD would freak her freak if we had a ladybug party.

Is it lame to use the theme again?

Do it, for sure. I couldn't tell you the theme of a single children's birthday party we've been to in the past year, so it's quite possible some of the guests wouldn't even recognize the repeat.

FWIW, if we were having a bday party for V, I'd totally be re-using the cute banners I had made last year on etsy.

Not lame at all. And if you are still looking for ideas, I totally recommend doing a ladybug release. We did one for DD's 3rd bday and it was awesome. They are available at Natural Gardener and the kids loved it.
