all of a suddent my DD is losing her mind when it comes to washing her hair. She screams like you would not believe. I have no idea why this is going on. Bath time is a nightmare..any suggestions on how deal with this?
DD started this when she was 3. Part of it was by the time I got to washing her hair after she had played a bit the water had cooled. Now I make sure to get fresh warm water for her hair.
She also doesn't like having the water on her face, so I gave her a dry washcloth to hold over her face--it gives her more of a sense of control over the process and she can make sure the water stays out of her face.
Have you tried having her do it? It could be an independence thing. I know this was the age we taught Harmon to scrub his hair after I put shampoo on. Than I just finish on the spots he missed. He really wanted to take over everything.
Mom to Harmon 1/17/08 and twins Rachel & Callum 8/28/09
DS started the same thing about 6-8 months ago. I either just ignore it/sing or if I can tell it'll help, I let him pour water from another cup at the same time.
It's a control thing at my house, DS doesn't want to stop playing long enough to get his hair washed unless he's in the mood.
