I went through a brief phase a few months getting it at McD's. I do think there is something addictive in it. I stopped it but now I'm addicted to coffee.
At this point it's a pick your vice kind of thing though. I quit drinking. I lost 'the' weight. I'm just enjoying my coffee for now.
If diet coke is the same thing for you... I say have at it.

McDonalds diet coke is the best. I am not really drinking it as a weight loss strategy. However, I guess I do reach for it when I dont have time to have something more substantial (which would be just about anything lol) I have always loved diet coke it just has seemed to intensify with the stress of having kids etc. Luckily I do not like the taste of coffee or I am sure I would be addicted to that as well!!:)

It's my "go to" drink too. But I try to limit myself. I could easily drink 3 at work - but I only let myself have 2. And I try not to drink it at home during the week (weekends - all bets are off!).

I used to drink a quart of the stuff before breakfast. I don't like coffee either and Diet Coke was my caffeine. I've cut way back and only have a couple a week now, but I still enjoy it. Coke Zero Vanilla is my new favorite.
I did find it was not nearly as hard to cut back as I thought it was going to be. I found a flavored water (no calories) that I like and just substituted that and Minute Maid Light Lemonade. Once I cut back on the diet soda it was easy to go from the flavored water to more plain water.
Me! I am a huge Diet Coke addict, it is bad. 4 cans a day, easy. Now that I am pregnant I had it maybe once or twice 1st trimester, and now have one a day maybe 3-4 times a week. I still miss it - once I have the baby and finsih BFing I will be right back on board wth my Det Coke. I know it isn't good for you, but I don't smoke, haven't done recreational drugs since college, rarely drink, eat well, work out every day, wear sunscreen daily, etc etc etc, so I will accept my Diet Coke vice.

Not diet coke, but I love diet pepsi. It's gotten to the point where I need my coffee in the morning, and then I need my can of diet pepsi in the afternoon. If I don't have caffeine with lunch, I'm pretty useless by the end of the day. I have a cold now, so last night I made myself some hot tea right before dinner. I was ready to pass out in bed before I drank it. That little bit of caffeine gave me enough energy to make it through the rest of the evening. It's kind of sad how addicted to caffeine I am.

My friend is literally addicted to it. Like has to avoid convenience stores so she doesn't purchase it. She compares it to alcoholism -- and she's not kidding. She has given it up TWICE in the last couple of years and has gone back both times. She can't seem to kick her diet coke habit.
I read somewhere that dark sodas are the #1 cause of cellulite in the US! ICK! Of course I don't drink soda (often anyway) so I feel it's ok for me to kick those diet coke addicts while they are down with that comment. Beer doesn't give me cellulite, at all! LOL
I drink it on the daily. I used to only allow myself one a day, but I'm up to two, sometimes three, now. I need to cut back. The cellulite comment might be the kick in the pants I need. Ew?
I used to drink a lot of diet soda, but I've cut it down to 2 every 2 weeks at knit night.
It is SO bad for you. The phosphoric acid in the cola can leach calcium out of your bones. I'm 43, so I really don't want to do anything that could cause osteoporosis later.

Addicted here as well. I have gotten good about only having a couple a week and I don't keep it in the house (because it would be gone!). If I am out and about I will make my way to a McD and I get the diet coke no ice so I get more soda. Certain stressful times at work I indulge more but I do see a difference in me if I get my coke in.

This is me. I drink coke zero. For some reason I like a soda after I run (which this week due to illnesses has been in the afternoon) - before that I ran at 5:45 am so I'd just have my coffee.
