New and asking for some help.

I hope that this is not a crazy question, but here is my situtation.

DH and I are trying for #2 and we are on cycle #2 with charting and using OPK's. FF says that I Oed on CD15, which I feel is true. So today would put me at 8DPO. Here is my question of concern. I spotted some yesterday brownish and now this morning I had some red/dark red blood. If this is my period which I would assume it is it would only make my cycle length 22 days total with a LP of only 7 days. I have never had a period come this early that I can even remember and I mark it down every month and I have not been on BC. I'm so worried with a short LH phase that it will not happen for us. Do you think I should see how the next few days go to see if it stops and maybe implantation spotting or call my OB because, I need help lengthing my LH phase?

 Sorry for the long explanation, but thanks for any and all help. I'm totally bummed out today.

It's possible to have a random short LP. I would def not call your doctor yet. Chart next month and see if it's still less than 7 days. If you have a very short LP next cycle, I'd call. Is this your 1st month charting? How long is your "normal" LP?

ETA: How much blood this morning? Was it spotting or a real flow? If it was spotting, I'd wait and see if it stops. If not, mark it as CD1 in FF. HTH!

This was my first month charting, so I don't have anything else to compare my LP too. The spotting was a two wipe (sorry if TMI), but I have some cramping which I do get with AF. Which is why I'm assuming it's her. I think you right in charting it again to see what happens next month. Thanks for taking the time to respond and I love your siggy. It reminds me of walter from one of my sons books he likes to read.

No problem. Can you link to your FF chart? I'd definitely say that you are spotting. I'd wait and see if AF comes before I get worried about a short LP anyways. Your LP ends the day before you get AF. So with you spotting yesterday and today, if AF came in 2 more days, your LP would be 9 days. Spotting doesn't count.

Odd... I had a somewhat similar situation last cycle.  My cycles have been 30-31 days for the past 6 months...  Last month was our first with OPKs and starting to chart, and AF showed up early (3-4 days early).  We did have sex in our fertile window.

So the scientist in me wonders...  Is it possible that the early "period" is actually a very early miscarriage?  Anybody have any thoughts on this?
