Update: 

Had my WTF yesterday.  We're going ahead with FET with AF at the end of March on a natural cycle.  I am going to go on the pill in February to manipulate the timing a bt because of all the travel I have coming up for work so this should get interesting.  If my cycle stays regular we expect transfer around Apri 13 (another Friday the 13th)

Hi! I am new both to this board and IVF. My planning appointment is tomorrow so I have not yet officially started but I hope to soon, already on bcp - Hope I am not chiming in too early! Dx of mild endo and unexplained IF, lap was good, everything else was clear. My DH's numbers are good, not super spectacular but good enough. We just tried one medicated IUI cycle which was a total fail. Moving to IVF based on my age and RE's recommendation. I am kind of glad I did try the 1 IUI first because I am not as scared as I would have been going into IVF not knowing anything. Experience counts for something, right?

Big hugs for all those that need them, there have been a lot of tears lately

I have to laugh b/c DH is an accountant.  I used to joke with him as to why he would go into that field.  His dad is a senior partner a E&Y, and he followed in his footsteps.

Update: I'm now in the two week wait.  I have to wait until 2/13 for my beta.  My clinic doesn't do pregnancy testing on the weekends.  I'm going to do my best to keep my mind off of it, but I'm feeling reallly positive right now.

QOTW: What did you want to be when you were a kid? I wanted to be a dancer or dance instructor.

If not, what kind of work do you do?  I'm a teacher.  I do do a little choreography on the side, but not as much as I would like to.

Update: I'm on BCP now and I'll start lupron on 2/10.  If things go as planned this cycle, ER will be last week of Feb/beg of March.

QOTW:  I wanted to be lots of things when I was a kid.... a doctor, an architect, a mom.   Right now, I'm an accountant/auditor.  I quit my full-time job when Dh got a new job and we moved.  Once we found out I was pregnant with twins, we decided I'd be a SAHM.  Since our loss, I haven't looked for a new job.  However, this busy season (Jan-April 15th), I'm working from home for my former employer.  I'm still hoping this IVF works and I can continue to stay home.  Otherwise, eventually, I'll have to look for another job.

Update: Dialing down my Follistim a notch for the next 2 days. I go back on Saturday for another monitoring appt. Unless something changes on Saturday, it looks like I'll be triggering Sunday with ER on Tuesday.

Update:  Transfer is Friday - I am starting to feel very anxious.  My butt is really starting to feel all the shots.  My beta is 2/13.

We are dealing with MFI, so after I had surgery for an ovarian endometrioma, we went straight to IVF. We went through our first IVF cycle at the end of 2011. We had three embryos and transferred 2 on day 3. The third one didn't make it to day 5 to freeze, and that cycle was unsuccessful. 

Now I am stimming for IVF #2, with a projected ER and ET next week. I am on a flare protocol this time around, taking way more medication each day, and it is going so fast! Last time, I had to take BCP for a cycle and then weeks of stimming... Not so this time around. Tomorrow is my first monitoring u/s. I didn't have a high number usable eggs last time, so we will see how things are shaping up this time, I guess.

Qotw: I wanted to be an astronaut. Or an inventor. I figured that when I grew up, I would understand how everything worked. 

I am not either of those things, and I am kind of disappointed by how little I understand about electronics.

I am an art historian, and I work at a museum.

QOTW: I wanted to be a marine biologist that study sharks and possibly cancer research as well.  I do SCUBA dive, but I have a friend who stuck with the marine bio thing, and I"m soooooooooooo glad I chose to relegate my fantasy to a hobby.  I am now a research engineer (chemist by training) for an aerospace company.

Update: I had my WTF appointment on Thursday and the plan for IVF 2 is two trigger shots at once and replace Bravelle with the most synthetic form of the horomone. Also, follicles will be flushed with sterile water to try and get the hard to reach eggs. The plan is to start BCP in May, but after some serious thought about timing I am going to see if we can start in April.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher and I that is what I do each and every day.

QOTW: I always wanted to work at a zoo. Did that for 2 weeks at high school and well... Now I am an accountant!! Math was easy for me and accounting just fell into my lap. I have been a CFO or similar for 5 years now and thinking a career change sometime in the not too distant future.

Update: Still waiting... and waiting... my husband has his check up next week, which means another 3 weeks until his SA comes back and then they'll look at both of our testing and figure out a plan of action, probably in late spring.

Update: ER will probably be Monday or Wedneday next week. I am on day 9 of stims. They think I am taking forever for follies to grow because of the long lupron cycle. If we have to do this again, I DO NOT want to do long lupron again.

Are you that now?   No, I made some bad decisions in college and I am in a field I am not happy with. I blame it on lazyness in college. Ugh.

If not, what kind of work do you do? I am in student affairs (I work with college students). The one good thing that came from it is I tell students a lot to not give up on their dreams just because classes are hard.

Update:  My second opinion appointment yesterday went great -- I was super busy so I wasn't on the computer hardly at all but I'll write up a summary today to hear what you girls think.  (I'm leaning towards jumping ship and cycling with the new RE.)

I just took my first BCP last night to get started on Long Lupron with stims in March for IVF #2!

QOTW:  I wanted to be a vet or doctor.  But that was mostly because I assumed you couldn't make a living writing -- writing has always been my first love.  Now I'm a farmer and reporter and I don't make too much money but I love what I do, so it's okay!  And, I also get to be a vet for my livestock, so it all worked out in the end

Update: got some more testing done, antiphopholipid antibodies and anti thyroid antibodies are all negative. So we are still unexplained. On track for FET #2 the week of April 9th.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? I honestly don't remember. Teacher? Doctor?

What kind of work do you do? I'm a doctor, but still training. I keep specializing so that I can avoid getting an actual job. Time's up though--I start my first real job at the end of July.

Update: Sorry I'm late to the check-in! We had our ER on Monday and retrieved 17 eggs! Total shock. We were also thrilled to learn that 16 had fertilized. We've got a tentative ET date for Sunday, 2/5!

QOTW: What did you want to be when you were a kid? I don't know that I had a specific idea about what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to help people with disabilities. 

Are you that now?  Sort of. I'm a social worker. Although, I don't really work in the disability field. I work with refugee children. I still wish I could find a position working with families affected by a disability. That's really what I want to do!

Hi there, can I join?  I am just starting my first IVF cycle, after having 5 failed IUIs last year.  I took my last BCP last night and I started Lupron last week.  I have my first suppression check on Monday.

Update: Update: Not much of an update for me. Talked to the nurse on Tuesday, she said the dr would have my report back from the genetic counselor & psych eval. and should have the approval for us today but she never called. FX she calls tomorrow. If were approved our next steps are genetic testing. We are hopeful for a March cycle.

If not, what kind of work do you do? I currently work in logistics but I am moving to a product management role at the end of the month.

Huge hugs to all of the ladies here... everyone deserves one if it's for heartache or joy! 

I had no visible signs of pregnancy at my first ultrasound.  We actually went in hoping that we would be one of the lucky ones to get to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks, but there was not even a gestational sac, the screen was just horribly blank.  I will be taking misoprostol today to start the 'miscarriage' going. 

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a jockey!  I grew to be 5'9", so there was no chance of that.   I also wanted to be an author.

I was in marketing and the office world for awhile, but now I am a full time horse hoof trimmer with my husband.  So it wasn't my childhood dream, but it does still involve horses.  I think my new goal when I grow up is to be one of those rare lottery winners that doesn't buy stupid crap and go broke right away, but actually lives a long and happy life sharing with loved ones and without financial worries.

Update: I have nothing super exciting to report over here, but I am going to be starting acupuncture this month.  They recommend starting at least 3 months before you cycle, so it's go time.  I hope I like it.  I hope they can convince my insurance to cover at least a few sessions.

QOTW: What did you want to be when you were a kid? I think I wanted to be a vet, until I realized that would mean having to put animals to sleep.  I couldn't do it.  I get too attached.

Are you that now?  Nope.  I'm not emotionally strong enough for that career.

If not, what kind of work do you do? I do administrative work.  My degree is in marketing, but that didn't really pan out for me.
