Trouble TTC

Finally a solid plan

We met with the RE for the first time today. He thinks that our chances of getting pregnant on meds only or through IUIs are not high and that we need to shoot for IVF. So he did an ultrasound on me and said it looks like I did ovulate this month and that everything looked great and maybe not even polycystic. He did order a two hour glucose test for me and the HSG (which I'm nervous about) so I'll be getting those done within the next month.

We are thinking summer/fall to begin IVF for various reasons and continuing with clomid until that point. I'm so glad to have a more solid plan in place now!

  • Sounds like a good plan!  Good luck with the glucose test.

  • Is there another diagnosis aside from PCOS, otherwise having extra targets with injects and the 5-10% increase with IUI seem at least worth a shot.  If you don't have a second diagnosis, I'd consider maybe a second opinion.
