Anyone heard anything about delivering at Legacy Good Samaritan in Portland?

I'm thinking about delivering at Legacy Good Samaritan in Portland. The other option I have is Providence St. Vincent.  Anyone have any opinions or experience with either hospital? Which one do you prefer or have you heard is better?

 Thanks for your help!!

  • I delivered at Good Sam.  Nothing but rav reviews. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My nurses were awesome!! I truly received personalized care. St. V's has a much busier L&D dept. One of my girlfriends delivered at both and she said that her experience at Good Sam far surpassed that at St. V's. Also, my DH loved the convenience of being in the city. No cafeteria food for us :)

  • Both Hospitals are wonderful!! I personally delivered at St V's and had a great experience, and plan to deliver there again with this one.  But I did have to have a D&C in 08' and was admitted to Good Sam L&D and the staff and experience was great considering the situation! I also had my gall bladder removal there at Good Sam and again very good experience!

Personally I think either way you are in good hands! Good luck!

  • Had my first at Good Sam and like pp said, nothing but wonderful things to say about them. I personally didn't like the idea of switching rooms after delivery which I think you have to do at St. V's. I preferred to just stay put.

  • I LOVE Good Sam, and have a friend who has delivered at both. She described St V's as the baby factory, and Good Sam as the Hilton! Go for a tour of both before deciding!
  • My SIL delivered at Good Sam and she had the most ideal delivery ever. I had mine at Tuality and Kaiser Sunnyside and chose the ladder over St. V's because I was told they were more open to natural deliveries however in comparison to my SIL's experience at Good Sam, I had some huge issues in my attempt for a natural delivery at Sunnyside. If I were to have another child, Good Sam would be my first choice by far.
