What I do with Pinterest is this....If I see something on line that I want to buy, I pin it so that way I can remember where I was so I can go back and buy it. For DD 1st bday and DS 5 th day I created boards so I could "pin" my ideas together and what I liked. I was MOH in a wedding and pinned things I needed to do for the wedding to that board. If I see kids clothing/items/toys I want to purchase in the future, I pin it to my kids board. I use it like a bookmarking system too.
Sawyer Quinn (09/06/06), Rory Keaton (04/07/08) and Kinsley Saffron (10/12/10). Forever and ever my babies they'll be. A rose can say "I love you",orchids can enthrall, but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist, yes, that says it all.~Author Unknown
You don't necessarily have to upload anything. If I'm reading a blog and I see a DIY idea or recipe I like, I pin it. I follow a bunch of different people and repin stuff from their boards. Want valentine's day food ideas? Search that. Looking to re-do your master bedroom? Search that. If you click on the link for my blog, there is a link to my pinterest boards in the right hand side bar. You can see how they are categorized.
At the top of pinterest there is a link for 'everything'. If you click that you can see random stuff other people have pinned. Just start repinning away, you'll get lost in it. I promise!
Can I hijack this post for a minute and ask how you find a specific board? Like I guess thebump has a board where they post users photos, but I have no idea how to find it... I'm sure OP would appreciate your feedback on this as well.
In your search box type 'thebump' or 'the bump'. Then when the results come up click people in the top left, as opposed to pins.
But to make that a little easier, go here. Direct link to thebump on pinterest.
Search for things you like, and just start pinning them. Make a few boards for those things that you like. And then if you want, make them Pretty basic
For example, if I type in "blue cups", the results show blue things and cups, but not blue cups. Am I missing something or is the search seriously limited to only one word?

Another hijack - How do I do a multi-word search?
