Hi all! After a few months of temping I feel like I am getting better at it but this month's temps are much higher than they have ever been.
Do you think it is possible to "will" your temp to be higher? You know like some subconscious drive to see what you want to see on that thermometer?
What about being under extra blankets? Would that cause your temp to be inaccurate for TTC purposes? I have not added any blankets this cycle but I am wondering if I should take one off...
My highest temp last cycle was:97.74 on Day 18 (4 DPO). THIS cycle my highest temp was today 98.08 on Day 21 (7DPO).

From what I have noticed the extra blankets dont matter a bit. The days that I felt as if my temp should be super high it turns out its been super low. Now I am pretty new to it as well so this is only my opinion hehehehe
)))) But it was kind of neat to look at the graphs and become more "intune" to what is going on with your body!
It's funny, I have a lot of post-o temps above 98 this time and a lot of the same thoughts were running through my head this morning.
I don't think you can will your temps to change. And If you've had the same blankets the entire cycle, I'd just leave it alone. Is your house the same temp? I had a big drop in temp post-o last cycle b/c a cold front moved through overnight and our heat was off.
I haven't charted enough to say what normal is for me. My best guess for myself is I've been waking a few minutes before my alarm lately...and the sleep before I wake is really restless so my temps are higher.
Just something else to obsess over, but nothing we can control. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out. FX for you!

Same here. Most of my temps are in the 96's and lower 97's. These 98's are totally new!
Hi Lama,
Just wanted you to know that before I got my BFP my temps were always around the 97.7 ish mark. The highest temp I ever got was in my 98's and around 7 dpo...but then I had a slight drop but not under cover line, then it remained steady and I got BFP on 10DPO.. extra blankets and even room temp really doesn't make a difference.
Good luck to you and hopefully we'll see you on the pregnant after 35 board soon!
For me, ambient temp, number of blankets, and whether DH is there or not actually does matter. I wouldn't call the temps "inaccurate" just slightly shifted and easily accounted for. But, that's just me. YMMV.
Thanks for telling me this! It makes me hopeful!
I guess we are all different.. I haven't been temping long enough to be able to tell if my weird temps are due to my environment or not--but I am hoping not!
