s/o carseats ? about the middle

My LO is still RF and I'd like to keep her that way for a while. She's small - 21 lbs and about 32 inches. But it's getting hard to put her in the seat without hitting her head on the door frame. :

She is currently on the passenger side. For those of you who have your LO RF in the middle - is it easy to get them in the seat? I'm thinking of moving it to the middle so that we can both get in the car, then I can put her in the seat and not bonk her head on the door frame.

Also, I find it really easy to hand her books/toys while she is in the passenger side. Will I still be able to do that if she is in the middle?

Maybe I will just try it for a while, but I wanted to see what the consensus was.

  • I like being able to get into the car with DS and sit on the seat while I strap him into his car seat instead of leaning into the car, especially if it's cold or raining, I just shut the door. I can still hand him a toy/bottle/whatever with him in the middle.

The Nest/Bump sucks and won't let me change my location. I'm in Arkansas, not Florida.

  • In our SUV, the only place to fit a rfing convertible seat is in the middle. It's always been fine. I do think it's easier to get in the car and then put DD in the seat. I would think it would be easier to hand her things in the middle since she'd be closer.

I agree with this.  I have always had her in the middle.  I think it would be easier to had her things if she was on the side, but it is ok in the middle.  I have to just put my hand above the seat for her to grab whatever I am handing her.  I am afraid if I let go I will dorp it on her head becase I can't see.  We have the roundabout classic and it is high enough that I can't reach over it very far while driving.  If I am the passenger I can reach over it fine.

  • I have my DD in the middle and it definitely would be easier if she was on the side, but I'm think I'm going to keep it the way it is. I don't usually bump her head, but it is a task getting her in and out.
