We have been TTC since July. I am really starting to lose hope. We conceived so easily with our DS. Since then I have developed pre-diabetes. I don't know if this has anything to do with it taking some time to get pregnant, but I just feel like my body is so out of whack. I have recently had a sonogram and ultrasound and all looks clear. I have been ovulating/getting my period fairly regularly but this month is the longest it has taken to ovulate (so far nothing) and I am just so frustrated with the whole process.
There...vent over! Thanks for listening
Re: Losing hope :(
1) I'm sorry you're frustrated.
2) As I'm sure you know, it can take a normal, healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant. You're still well within the normal range, even though it sucks for it to be taking "so long" for you. Remember that there are plenty of women on this board who have been TTC for (much) longer than a year, so try not to complain too loudly that it's been 8 months for you so far. With DD it only took us 4 cycles, which in retrospect is fast, but at the time it seemed like it was taking forever. When you're in the midst of TTC every cycle seems like an eternity.
3) You're only on CD 16 according to your ticker - that's not late to ovulate at all! The theoretical "average" is day 14 (which is why all the EDDs are estimated based on it even though it's not correct all that often), so you're only 2 days past that. I usually ovulate between days 15-19, and I consider my cycles regular. If you're under stress your body can delay ovulation, so consider whether your work or family situation is putting you under addition stress (even positive stress) right now. Traveling can also do it.
BFP1: DD1 born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w4d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
Last month you ovulated on CD17 so CD16 is not the longest it has taken you to ovulate.
Take a deep breath. It can take a healthy couple a year to conceive. I know it's frustrating, but you're on cycle 7 or 8, right? Hang in there.
