early on for your kiddo, how do they sleep now? We didn't really use one for my daughter (now 21 months old) but I think white noise helps my almost 5 month old son. But if I put it on a timer, he often wakes when it turns off.
If your kid slept w/ it on all night (we'd keep it kind of low), do they still need it? Can they handle quiet? I'd prefer not to need it for a 2 year old, for example...
thanks!
Re: If you used a white noise machine...
We got one for DD when she turned 1 bc she was waking up from naps really easily and it was frustrating.
She's 18 months now and she definitely doesn't need the noise machine to fall asleep. In fact, tonight I forgot to put it on and she was totally fine.

I agree. We've been using since we brought DD home from the hospital. She slept in our room for the first 3 months and we used it to diffuse the noise of DH's snoring, now we have it on all night in her room because her room is on the street side of the house and I don't want traffic noise/car doors closing to wake her up. If she wants a sound machine in her room I have no problem with it at all - in fact DH and I have trouble sleeping if the air purifier in our room isn't on (DD likes to push the buttons on it) and even the rain running through the gutters will wake me up.
This is us as well. I am NOT rocking the sleeping boat! He sleeps with a white noise machine on rain and a box fan on medium in the hallway.
