Stop asking

At work ppl ask if were pregnant yet, I tell them no, already annoyed they ask everytime they see me.  Then most proceed to tell me to relax and maybe im think too much about it, without me saying a word.  I just wish sometimes they would not give me their opinion.  You cant tell a women TTC to stop stressing and expect her to take that and run.

Do you ladies have any similar expeirences?

Yep. I lost my job back in September and my old coworkers call and ask if we are pregnant yet. Then they say relax it will happen. Gee thanks.

But my mom takes the cake. I told her I wanted a puppy (we already have one dog) and she replied you don't need another dog you just need a baby....gee thanks mom what store can I pick one of those up from?

I'm not getting asked about my TTC efforts, thankfully, but when I do I usually tell them "we're just thinking about it". If they push I would probably use the generic "my sex life is between me and my husband" and just leave it at that. I get asked by family from time to time "are babies coming soon?" and I just tell them not that I'm aware of lol.

People are going to ask you, just use your thick skin and let it bounce off of you

My mom says the same thing.  Ive been wanting another dog for the longest and she has said to me, you dont have room and you need to focus on having a baby. 

Well how can i not have room for another dog but have room for the baby?  She has backed off recently tho. 

What kind of dog would you get?

Almost no one knows we're TTC, so that helps. I have several coworkers who keep asking though, so lately I've taken to redirecting them to the coworker who got married a few months before me by saying "Nope, go talk to her, she's been married longer!" I know its evil, but I also know she'll give them some big speech about where she's at. And I know she LIKES being asked.
For family, I just say we're "just enjoying being married". They can take what they like from that- either that we're not worrying about TTC or that we're enjoying lots of unprotected sex.

Nobody knows that we are TTC. So, people don't ask if I am yet. However, my grandma asks me when we are going to have a baby every time I talk to her. I change the subject, it's annoying.

I have one coworker who is constantly asking when I am going to have a baby so she can come over and play with them. Yep, that's why I want to procreate, to give you something to play with.

I don't get asked because I don't share that information with anyone.  If I had people asking though, I would probably just say I do not discuss my personal life at work.  Plain and simple.

My DH told me that he thinks I need to relax and it will happen. That pissed me off. He knows it can take awhile and I couldn't believe that he said that to me! We only have one friend that knows that we are TTC and she doesn't ask us about it. I would just say you are thinking about it or don't say anything at all!

I made the mistake about telling my fellow coworkers we are ttc. I get that same question EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Most of my coworkers are female so then they proceed to tell me that I need to just have sex more. Uhmmmm I am having more sex than I have had in my entire life but gee thanks for the input!!

The friends who know are cool about it, with the exception of one. The last time she asked me that question, I pretended to be super hurt looked at my belly and said "do I really look THAT fat?!?"

The look at her face was priceless and she has not asked me that question again ever since. 

I have got too use this next time I am asked.

Pew have an Australian Shepherd chow mix. I have since discovered an aussiedoodle (Australian shepherd poodle mix) . It's a tiny version of my big dog. I want it. My husband keeps saying no. He wants an African mastiff. I told him hopefully his next wife likes 200lb dogs. Lol

We haven't even told our family that we're TTC, but when someone asks about it I just find a way to change the subject or give a generic answer like "someday" or "we're just having fun" right now. Honestly though, if people were hounding me like that I would just find a polite way to tell them to back off and that they aren't helping. Assure them that you'll let them know when you're ready to.

Our families know that we are TTC, as well as some close friends. Most of the fam doesn't ask questions about it which is very nice, but some friends will ask now and then (usually whenever I see them) things like, "Is there any news yet?" or if babies are the topic of discussion in the group, someone will ask me "How's THAT going, by the way?"

2nd time around, we probably won't be sharing as much til there is actually news to share.....

My mother said something very similar this week! I have an aussie/lab mix, and i love him dearly.

I had a situation at work similar to this. I am a pharmacist so naturally I get my prescriptions filled when I work since it's convenient. Well my technicians and partner pharmacist saw I had prenatals filled so they obviously know we are TTC. The one technician is constantly telling me I need to relax and it'll happen or not to think about it. She also told me to put my legs up after sex to help the sperm along and that this worked for her because she has a tilted uterus...blah blah. I let it go because it's not worth trying to educate a 60 year old woman about TTC. However my pharmacy is busy and at times stressful and she made the comment to my other technician that if I ever wanted to get pregnant that I better stop getting so stressed out at work and that I should transfer to a slower pharmacy because I will have a hard time getting pregnant and working while pregnant in a busy pharmacy. When I heard this I was steaming...WTF does working have on me TTC and I'm pretty sure ladies work while pregnant and after the baby is born. Some people just don't think before saying stuff. It's stressful enough TTC and I don't need people telling me what I should or shouldn't do based on old wives tales. ::::ok vent over::::

I get asked all the time. I usually like to respond in the following way

"When are you going to have a baby?"

"About 9 months after I get pregnant"

People should just not say anything... You'll share news when you're ready.

DH and I have been married 2 years. Everyone asks when we're going to be "poppin em out". Given that I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2006, it got real annoying real quick. When I tell them I'll let them know when it happens, they all tell me to "just enjoy life and it will happen when the time is right."

  Holy crap! THAT'S how babies are made?!?!

This needs to be your response when they tell you to have more sex. Hopefully it'll get them to back off.

My mom asks me every single time I see her if I'm pregnant yet.  On Sunday I was drinking a glass of wine and she asked.  I said I'm drinking wine what the F do you think?
