I am due next week and want to start wearing the baby right away if possible.
If it helps, I am 5'4" with a short torso and plus sized.
I am considering:
Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Ring Sling
BabyHawk Mei Tai Carrier
Baby K'Tan Breeze Carrier
Beco Butterfly II Carrier
Moby Wrap (but not sure because I get hot easily and it seems like a lot of fabric)
Also open to suggestions. Thanks!
Re: 1st sling/wrap/carrier suggestion?
I love all my carriers. I started with a mei tai - I found it quicker/easier than a wrap. Now I have a ring sling and Ergo that I use more. I never found the wrap love, but they are very versatile and long lasting.
The Moby and the K'Tan are stretchy, so they don't work as well once your baby gets heavier. The ring sling and mei tai and Butterfly will all last much longer. Not sure if you can use the Buterfly w/ a newborn, though.

I feel like we have lived in our Moby for the past 6 month.
Both DS and I love it. However, now that he is 15 1/2 Lbs, we are out growing it. Now I am on the hunt for a woven wrap to use instead.
We also have a ring sling that gets lots of use. Ds went through a few periods where is really didn't like the ring sling though (mainly 2-4 months). It worked great when he was itty bitty and just this past month we have started using it more.
