I gave LO amox. for the 1st time today(ear infection). He dribbled it out of his mouth. He usually takes medicine well and it spelled like it had a nice flavor. Curious if anyone else' s Lo spits it out. I now have to see if it stains since he got it on a cute outfit.

My DD hated it.  I had to give each dose in about 3-4 squirts because I had to hold her mouth close so that she wouldn't spit it out.  I felt terrible, I know she hated me that week...LOL

Yes it's like pulling teeth to get him to swallow it!

I put it in his bottles (or applesauce when DS1 was bigger) and he never knew it was there.

DD1 had 6 ear infections, and was on several different meds. She got pretty good at taking them as she got older, but the first time she was not quite 5 months. I just gave it in small squirts and stuck her pacifier in as quickly as possible after each squirt. If that didn't make her swallow, blowing on her face gently would cause her to gasp and swallow. I've also heard that if you give them a bottle nipple to suck on and squirt the meds into that they'll swallow them, but never tried it.

He actually took it better the 2nd time around so hoping it continues.

DS will spit out any oral meds we give him, so we mix them in with his bottles. He usually doesn't seem to notice.
