1- does anyone's else LO make scary sounds while they sleep? DS is noisy, it's cute most of the time... When it's not keeping me up, lol. But I think during REM sleep, he will start breathing weird, to the point of hyperventilating. It's scares the crap out of me.
2- sometimes during the day I don't have the heart to lay him down to sleep. I just hold him and stare at him. I can't stop myself. I keep telling myself "you can't spoil an infant" :-) Anyone else?
ETA: the first month was so hard but I think I may finally be getting the hang of this mommy thing. :-) Or at least for today. Ha!
ETA 2: I can't believe I have a one month old!!!

1- He did when he was your LOs age. Would even hold his breath now and then. Now he ninja kicks and does muted squawks and coos. Pretty sure they are just practicing the new and exciting things they can do.
2- Guilty. Plus at least I know he'll stay asleep if I keep him on me.

DD breathes weird sometimes when sleeping too. Wait until he starts gasping--it's scary but normal I guess.
I wouldn't say you are spoiling him, but he can get used to you holding him and then he will want you to hold him every time he sleeps. Which can get old really quickly. Up to you
I agree the 1st month-6w was the hardest for us. Then it started getting much easier.
1. C does this too. He also makes a gasping noise like he's run out of air and it got caught when he was inhaling. His ped didn't seem too concerned.
2. I'm guilty of this as well. I only put C down if I need to do some chores while he sleeps.

1. Yes, mine do that too.
2. Yes but I wish I hadn't. Apparently you can spoil a newborn because after my MIL left (a week and a half of being held for most naps), my LOs wouldn't sleep anywhere else. We're still working on breaking that from a month ago (I say as they are sleeping on me but only because they got shots today and I think the day was traumatic enough already).

A also makes crazy noises while she's sleeping. My pedi said that at this age, they aren't dreaming yet due to how deep of a sleep they get into, but I don't know if I really believe him.
I always hold her for her naps, but DH and I pretty much believe in holding her almost all of the time anyways. But I also don't think that it's possible to spoil a newborn with being held too much, it's one of their biological needs.
