We should have had this done months ago but there was always somethingcausing more concern. So we go tomorrow for E's first eval. What should I expect? She had OT therapy in the NICU and when we would go back to the hospital for overnights, but I feel clueless.
Does anyone have a good site for what she should be doing for her adjusted age? I keep getting handouts from different dr's and it always concerns me that she is even more behind than I orginally thought.
Re: OT Evaluation
Don't stress about the evaluation. They will take the lead, and just do different activites with your baby to assess her development. They will also ask you a bunch of questions along the way, but it is not a stressful environment (at least not the two times my son's been evaluated). If she qualifies, the sessions are fun for them - the OT will do different activies and play various games to address certain development activities. Most (not all) kids love it.
Check out the march of dimes site for a list of what milestones are expected for each age - just go by adjusted and remember that all babies develop at their own pace!
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
