Cloth Diapering

Fuzzibunz and exclusive BF please come in!

So... if your exclusively BF and your LO poo's in his diaper, do you rinse that out before you wash them? I keep seeing where people rinse the solids out but haven't really seen if they rinse the yellow/green BF poo also.

If you do, do you make sure to get every last bit of it off, or will the wash get that out?

TIA!!!

  • My DD is 4 months old now and I have yet to spray any of her diapers.  We've had no issues with staining or pooh residue after washing either.  It is my understanding there is no need to rinse the diaper until they are on solids.  You will notice the difference in pooh at that time.

  • Yep, no spraying/rinsing until he hit 6 months old and solids!!  I did find that I had to strip once a month when only BF, but now that we are on solids and BF2-3 times a day, I have not had to strip on 4-5 months.  Weird?

  • Nope! Just throw them in the washer!

  • I don't rinse mine, but I do spray them before putting them in the wet bag with diluted bac-out to keep from having ammonia build-up and to minimize the odor and staining.
