new preg. concerns- hcg levels

Has anyone had the experience in their previous pregnancies of hcg levels not doubling in 48 hrs in early pregnancy?

I've been told by my doc that I'll likely miscarry due to an empty gestational sac measuring 5 wks noted at 7wks gestation by LMP.  That plus HCG not significantly rising are the two major signs of this pregnancy being unreassuring.  

 Just curious to see if anyone else had this experience.

How many tests have you had?  The first results, it did not quite double, but then two days later it more than doubled.  GL and T&P's  You must be stressed

At 7 weeks I had a bleed...so HCG was checked. It did not double, but it rose significantly enough that they weren't worried. At that stage, a later u/s showed the heartbeat, and sac placement.

We are now at 21w...try not to worry until you have to

Thanks.  Only had 2 hcg for now.  Going for scan tomorrow.  First value was 4000 next was 4700, so no where near doubling.  

Hoping to get some clarity tomorrow.
