I have been putting my 19 month old son down for a nap at around 1:00pm and it often takes him about 40-45 min. before he falls asleep. Should I push it later? He goes to bed around 7:30-8, so I am worried that making nap later would affect bedtime. What do you do with your LOs?
Re: What time does your toddler go down for a nap?
Does he take long to fall asleep at night? When he does fall asleep for nap, how long does he nap for?
You could try pushing it back by 30 min and see how that goes. It shouldn't make that much of an impact on night time sleep. If he doesn't nap for too long, then it should be okay, I guess.
My 18 mos old naps at 1, usually for about 2.5 hrs and goes to bed around 7/7:30.
Good luck!
Usually around 1pm. then he sleeps for 1-3 hours depending on how much he's done up to that point. Nightime is a different story though, If hes tired he can go in as little as 30 mins. Other times (most of the time - still trying to get a routine down) it can take hours...

I think it varies for kids.
DD gets up ~7:00-30am, and goes down for her nap at ~11:30-12:00, and then to bed ~7:30-8:00pm

She usually goes down right around noon and sleeps for 2 hours. I rock her for about 5 minutes and then lay her in her crib where she goes right to sleep. She goes to bed between 7:30-8pm and is up between 6:30-7:30am.
Could he be overtired when you're laying him down?

DD gets up around 7/8am - naps at 1pm - goes right to sleep, usually wakes btwn 3:30-4 (I wake her up if she's still asleep at 4) and then bedtime starts at 7pm, asleep by 7:30.
I think she doesn't go to sleep until later at daycare but is still up around 4 and it doesn't affect bedtime at all.
