Bath question

When did you put DS/DD in the regular tub? Right now we have DS in the infant tub in the regular tub but he's kind of too big for the infant tub. And lately he's trying to turn around in it. He sits up well, but doesn't pull up/stand yet.

DH is really hesitant to take him out of the infant tub, but I kind of think it's time.

Re: Bath question

  • A little over 6 months, we got DD one of those bath seats and used that for about 2-3 months and then we just started using the regualr tub.  It conincided w/ DD learning how to stand/cruise, so it was good (slightly scary, but good).

I know they make those inflatable tub type things - which maybe I would have used, but I don't know.

  • When she could sit on her own.

It's fun times now that she can pull herself up. We're constantly tell her to sit down, but she likes to swim around the tub. I'd say do it!!

  • I used a bath ring and I highly recommend it!  If you go to Buy Buy Baby's website and type it in, you can see what they look like.  (Not able to post a link from my computer at work.)  DD was able to sit up and be completely secure while being bathed.  I loved it.  I'm going to use it for DS once he's able to sit up better and that way I can bathe both kids simultaneously.

  • Somewhere between 8-9 months, b/c he was pulling himself up in his infant tub.  Our baby tub is a big one, though, so he still had plenty of space, but I was terrified he was going to smack his face on an edge w/ all the monkeying around he was doing in there... once he was in the big tub, it mostly stopped him from trying to stand.
  • We got the duck tub for inbetween when DD was too big for the infant tub and too small (in my opinion) to be in the big tub.  This really helped me keep her contained in one area and it saved water too.

DD loved the duck tub and I was sad when she outgrew it.

  • When he was sitting up on his own & no longer seemed satisfied in the infant tub (tryin gto move around, etc).  I use to sit in the tub with him when I first started using the reg tub.  Of course, we didn't have a bath mat at the time so sitting with him was mainly to keep him from slipping (amzing how easy it is for them to do that even if they aren't standing yet!).

It was awesome.  One word of warning, my husband got a little light headed trying to blow the thing up.  He wanted to use my dad's air compressor, but I was afraid it would bust it.  You may want to have a bike pump on hand.

  • We just got rid of the infant tub on a whim (DH had to give both kids baths when I was out).  We have the duck from Aiden, and I think I'm going to pull it back out, because it still makes me nervous with her in the tub with nothing.
