DH had interviewed for a position at the same office as 1 of our friends (our friend referred him).  The interview went really well & our friend even said they talked highly of him afterwards.

Well, DH just talked with our friend & found out that they decided to go with someone else .  The hiring manager talked with our friend for a bit about the decision they made & apparently it came down to DH having a smidge less programming experience than another guy.  Our friend said if he had know, he would have taken a night or 2 after work to train DH before the interview.

We're a little bummed because this position would have done 2 things : 1) allow me to go p/t allowing me to stay home some with DS & #2 after he's born & 2) had a LOT of growth potential for DH (something he doesn't have here, been hitting his head for 10yrs).

Back to the drawing board
