NIP - people are rude!

I was nursing DS while we were at brunch yesterday completely covered with a light blanket. I was off to the side out of the way. 

A lady - maybe in her late 30's - marched over to me  from way across the room and says " you know, people are trying to eat here. Do that at home."

I looked at her and said " what? My baby isnt allowed to eat?"

It wasn't like I had my chest on display. I was fully covered. She stood there like she wanted me to apologize. I'm not going to apologize for feeding my child. No one else was bothered by it!

Yikes, I'm sorry you had to deal with that.  She was totally rude, I hope you didn't apologize to her.  How did she even know you were nursing?  There was something else going on with her, it wasn't you!

Ive heard people saying NIP was fine if properly covered and not done in a place where people eat.. Honestly I don't see the big deal about your child eating where everyone else does. Do you tell a formula mother to feed somewhere else? That faux nipple is so offensive! Do you hide nursing animals? No. So why when a human nurses it's trashy.. We are ANIMALS it's natural.. Eff that noise. I don't even use a cover these days..
