ttc after a family loss
My cousin just miss carried at 6 months, and my husband and I were talking about trying to conceive ahead of our 5 yr plan. My question is since my cousin just miscarried how long should we wait to try and how long should we wait to tell the family?

While it's nice that you're being sensitive to your cousin, you can't plan your life around other people's, even if they've had tragedy.
TTC when you're ready, handle the announcement with sensitivity, and pick your own timetable for letting people know. Some wait until after the first u/s, some until after the first trimester, some tell as soon as they see a +HPT. It's up to you.
In the meantime, keep your TTC plans to yourselves.
