w/ marginal PP when is csection decided on?

Hi ladies, Just wondering if anyone knows with marginalpp when will the doc decided csection or not? I have had MPP my whole pregnancy and placenta has not moved a bit. I know there is still a slim chance it could move, but since it hasnt at all so far Im assuming it wont. I go to a specialists office, and see 3 different docs there depending on who is working that day. The one I saw in Oct told me that if my placenta had not moved by my next appt (2 weeks later) he would schedule my csection Sad. At my next appointment he wasnt there and the doc I saw said he wanted to hold off on schedualing it to see how things progressed Smile. Well now Im 31+ weeks with 4 trips to l&d and on strick bedrest. I feel like time is running out, Just wondering if anyone knows when the "final" decision is made to schedule one?

Re: w/ marginal PP when is csection decided on?

  • When I had marginal previa, I was told that if by 32 weeks it hadn't moved back that the decision would be to proceed with a section.  MIne resolved by 28 weeks so we didn't have to make that decision, but the US tech also said that since they check with the internal US probe, they do not like to use those anytime after 34 weeks.

  • I had complete placenta previa and while the option of a c section was briefly discussed, my c section wasn't scheduled until my 31 week appt. It was scheduled for 36 weeks. But they also scheduled an u/s for the day before to make sure it was still placenta previa. Every doctor is different, but I'm guessing they would probably wait at least this long and give as much time as possible to allow it to move. If not, the c section really isn't bad- I was waaaayyyy more nervous than need be and in the end the baby and I are healthy ( plus it was a nice perk to know when delivery would occur so I could propert prepare). GL!!

  • I had complete previa. My dr gave it until 36weeks to move. My last ultrasound was at 35w5d. My c section was scheduled for 39w3d. She was actually born at exactly 36weeks.
